Overview

The Thallo Pass Trek is one of northern Pakistan's most rewarding valley-to-valley crossings — an 8-day journey that begins in the far reaches of Upper Chitral and ends in the celebrated pine forests of Kumrat, linking two of the country's most beautiful regions on foot. Along the way you'll trek past more than six pristine alpine lakes, cross the high Thallo Pass at around 14,000 ft, and walk through some of the greenest, least-visited meadows in the Hindu Kush.
This is a moderate-to-hard trek suited to anyone with reasonable stamina — averaging 12–14 km a day — and because we never leave anyone behind, walkers of mixed pace are welcome. With shepherd settlements, glacial lakes, and a genuine sense of remoteness, the Chitral-to-Kumrat route rewards every step. Departures are from Islamabad, with full camping, meals, guides, and porters included.
This exclusive 8-day, 7-night expedition crosses from Chitral to Kumrat via the Thallo Pass, linking a string of six alpine lakes with dramatic mountain scenery. It's graded moderate-to-hard, yet remains accessible to anyone with moderate fitness — true to our philosophy that we don't leave anyone behind.
