Overview

"Mountains are meant to be climbed — for it is not the mountains that we conquer but ourselves." Churko Peak is the highest peak of the Siran Valley, standing at 4,300 m. The valley takes its name from the Siran river, and the climb offers a challenging but deeply rewarding alpine experience.
Over 4 days and 3 nights, the journey begins with an overnight drive from Islamabad and an early-morning arrival at Mandagucha. From there it's a full-day hike to the Chari base camp (through Kalo Kaas) on day one, a high camp at Khanda on day two — with views of Musa Ka Musalla, Kanda Top and Churko Peak — a pre-dawn summit push on day three aiming for a noon summit, and the descent and drive home on day four.
Some summits are earned in the cold. Churko Peak — the highest peak of Siran Valley at 4,300 metres — is one of them. TourRangers runs it as a winter expedition, and everyone who's stood on top will tell you the same thing: the summit isn't the hard part, the climb to it is, and that's exactly why it's worth doing.

Frequently asked

Everything you might be wondering before you book — tap a question to expand.

It's rated Hard and is a winter summit, so it's challenging for first-timers — but the route is structured with two camps and paced guiding so you can climb to your ability. Many first-time trekkers have summited; the key is preparation and honest fitness. Building stamina beforehand (running 6–8 km daily) is strongly advised.

TourRangers handles the full journey — an overnight drive from I-8 Markaz, Islamabad via the Hazara and Mansehra motorways to Mandagucha, where the trek begins.

Your group is led by the most professional and experienced team at TourRangers. We specialise in arranging trekking tours and have successfully run multi-day treks and expeditions across the north — including the Churko Peak Winter Summit (4,300 m), K2 Base Camp Trek, Ratti Gali to Besal–Naran Trek, Chitta Katha Lake, Supat Valley Trek, Musa Ka Musalla, Makra Peak and the Ganga Choti winter summit, backpacking in Chitral, and a successful expedition to Shimshal Pass and Minglik Sar (6,050 m).

Summits are always weather-dependent, and some groups have had to turn back due to snowstorms. Your guides make the final safety call — the mountain will always be there for another attempt.

Two mountain camps: Chari (Day 1) and Khanda high camp (Days 2 & 3), in camps or huts. Meals are provided throughout.
