Haramosh Valley
Haramosh is located in the Karakoram range of the Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan. Haramosh is one of the most scenic treks in terms of its diverse views. The trek combines beautiful villages with snow-covered mountains, plentiful livestock, forests, meadows, glaciers, and the enthralling Kutwal Lake. Haramosh Valley lies about 65 kilometers (40 mi) east of Gilgit, in the south-central region of the Rakaposhi-Haramosh Mountains, a subrange of the Karakoram range. It rises steeply above the north bank of the Indus River, a little way upstream of its confluence with the Gilgit River. The massif has two summits, Haramosh Peak (7049 m) and Haramosh Kutwal Laila Peak (6985).
Kutwal Lake is a high-height lake situated in the Haramosh Valley. The lake is encircled by a few high mountains, including Haramosh Peak, Laila Peak, and Dobani Peak.

Haramosh Itinerary
Day 0: Departure from Islamabad
- Departure from I-8 Markaz Islamabad at 11:30 PM via Islamabad-Hazara Motorway
Day 1: Islamabad to Sasi
- Overnight travel to Sasi / Chillas
- Breakfast at Moon Restaurant Besal
- Enjoy the landscape of Naran valley
- Short Stay at Lulusar Lake and Babusar Pass
- Arrival at Sasi 5:00 PM
- Dinner and Overnight Stay in Hotel
Day 2: Immersive journey to Kutwal village
- Early Morning Breakfast
- Departure for Kutwal Village
- 2 hour’s Jeep Trek.
- 2-4 hours of trek to Kutwal Village (Subject to your pace but our team won’t leave you behind)
- Arrival at Kutwal Village around 4:00 PM
- Establish Campsite, serve some snacks
- Dinner & Overnight in Camps at Kutwal Village.
Day 3: Sit back, relax, and enjoy Kutwal Lake
- Early Morning breakfast & Start Trek Towards Kutwal Lake.
- 2-3 Hours of trek (subject to pace).
- Establish Campsite. Whole Day at Kutwal Lake.
- Dinner & Overnight Stay at Campsite
Day 4: Fully explore Haramosh Valley with optional hike to Haramosh La Basecamp
- Early Morning Breakfast
- Kutwal Lake Excursion & optionally trek Towards Haramosh la Basecamp.
- Start trek towards Kutwal Village
- Arrival at Campsite 5:30 PM
- Dinner and Overnight Stay at Village Campsite
Day 5: Start of return journey Chillas / Naran
- Early Morning Breakfast
- Start trek toward Jeep Point
- Arrival at Jeep Point 9:00 AM
- Shift into Jeep For Sasi
- Arrival at Sasi 12:00 PM
- Shift into Own transport for Chillas or Naran
- Dinner and overnight Stay at Naran or Chilas
Day 6: Back to Islamabad

- Drive towards Islamabad Via Naran Road

The expedition couldn’t get any better. The scenery was picture perfect, the terrains were challenging and fun, and it only got better thanks to the participants and thr tour guides. A must do for all.
As someone who treasures my privacy and has a specific way of doing things, I was a bit skeptical about joining a group trip. But let me tell you, the folks at Tour Rangers were absolute tour wizards! They made everything super chill, so even a choosy hermit like me ended up having a blast. 10/10 would let them drag me out of my cave again!
Haramosh is a gem on earth with even more beautiful people and culture (glaciers, springs, mulberries, Yorotis (Shina word for apricot) and goats (of course) are a few highlights). Tour Rangers are the champs. The trip was well-paced to accommodate relatively new trekkers like myself. We still had enough time to play cricket, swim in the lake, set up camps, watch the sunlight diminish from the top of a big a*s boulder and pump air into a raft (didn’t get to ride it even though I took the initiative, was distracted by french fries and by the time I got back there was a queue) on top of trekking. Overall, had a blast with Tourangers (especially the OG Shoaid Swati, Waqas and Saghir bhai) and fellow travel buds.
Few things to consider before opting to spend a few days in the Haramosh heaven;
1. If you are looking for a luxury vacation, this isn’t for you unless you find defecating under a wide open sky, a luxury.
2. This is a very remote area with no reception, your Snapchat streaks are bound to break.
3. If you have certain dietary requirements, please come prepared. There aren’t any gluten-free bakeries that have started their operations there.
Lastly, come to absorb as much serenity, to experience solitude and to have goat’s milk (even meat). Highly recommended!
I recently trekked with Tour Rangers to Haramosh Valley, and it was an amazing experience! The stunning scenery, well-organized itinerary, and knowledgeable guides made the trip unforgettable. The accommodations were comfortable, and the food was great. While life jackets could be a useful addition, everything else was top-notch. Highly recommended!
This was my third trek with Tour Rangers, the guys are gem and know how to handle trekking tours, be it’s your first experience or not, highly recommended. And they truly leaves no one behind, they make sure that you reach the destination, there arrangements are top notch, are very cooperative and turns a group into a family. About Haramosh, the trek is beautiful with every kind of scenery like jungle, glacier, meadows and above all Haramosh peak.
