One of the most famous festivals celebrated in Kalash is the Chilam Joshi festival during the month of May. A Spring festival, people wear new dress and women decorate themselves.
The Chilam Joshi festival commemorates the arrival of summer and celebrates the abundance of dairy products during the season. This festival gives an excellent opportunity for faraway people to celebrate which gives a message of peace to the world. The people of Kalash love music and dance to the beat of drums. Both men and women partake in dancing festivities, where they make circles and enjoy the sound of music.

Day 1: Wednesday, 13th May 2020
- Departure from Islamabad at 1:00 AM
- Start Journey towards Chitral via Islamabad-Swat motorway and further continue the journey via Malakand Pass, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir
- Sehri in Chakdara around 3:30 AM
- Breakfast in Dir around 8:00 AM
- Pass through the Lowari Tunnel to enter Chitral Valley.
- Arrival Chitral around 1:00 PM
- Check-in into Hotel – PTDC or Tirch Mir or Hindukush Heights
- Rest and relax for the rest of the day
- Iftari and Dinner
- Overnight in Chitral
Day 2: Thursday, 14th May 2020
- Sehri and Breakfast
- Visit of Chitral Gol National Park in the morning
- Return to Chitral around 2:00 pm
